Training Facilities

Shelforce is eager to improve the use of local community labour for its customers, particularly for those groups of people with the most need. To achieve this, Shelforce has a purpose built training facility onsite for the training of disabled and/or disadvantaged groups in the survey and installation of windows and doors.

The facility offers both classroom-based training for the theory element of the course followed by a practical installation in the purpose built structures within the training area. This gives proper hands-on experience for both the survey and the installation by using the appropriate tools to measure and install a window and door into the brickwork openings, including the final sealing using a sealant gun.

The facility is designed to operate with groups of ten trainees but can be adapted around individual requirements. Access to College-based basic skills courses are also available as part of the package if required which will then lead into the practical sessions at Shelforce.

Shelforce can also offer training in matters involving employment support and can arrange suitable training in the aspects of the Disability Discrimination Act.
